— Show your support by putting your boots on the ground! Picket lines, rallies and other solidarity events are being organized.

— Volunteer at the Strike Headquarters.

— Consider donating to the Chicago Teachers Solidarity Fund. Help us think of other creative ways to raise funds — remember that teachers will be risking their pay for the duration of the strike! Consider organizing a benefit to help raise donations for the solidarity fund such as the “Rock For Teachers” event on September 22nd.

— Tell others about us and get the word out! Go to shows or poetry readings and talk to your fellow artists about why a decent culture means access to the arts and a decent education for all!

— Write an op/ed or a letter-to-the-editor to your newspaper expressing support for teachers and for quality public education for all.

— Be part of the city-wide Chicago Teachers Solidarity Campaign.

— Call CPS “CEO” Brizard at 1-773-553-1500 and tell him you support CTU! Tell him you stand with teachers on issues like like class size; expanded funding of art and music in all schools; safe school facilities, job security and fair compensation for a fair days work.

— Call the Mayor’s office and demand that they give the teachers a fair contract!
